22 апреля 2015 года специалисты Октябрьского отдела социального обслуживания населения ОБУ «ЦСЗН по городу Липецку» организовали экскурсию для граждан, находящихся на социальном обслуживании на дому. В ходе экскурсии проехали по центральным улицам областного центра, посетили выставку в Липецком областном художественном музее.

Для пожилых людей, регулярно  организуются поездки по историческим и святым местам Липецкой области, обзорные экскурсии по городу Липецку. Такие поездки дают возможность пожилым людям отвлечься от повседневных забот, пообщаться, увидеть, как растет и благоустраивается родной город. Это направление в работе с пожилыми людьми приобрело название  социального туризма.
